Today, my friend, Jodi, came over and we worked on papier mache a little bit.
I think that I am finding a rhythm with all this.
Trying to decide, though, whether or not to "paint" these treasures......I love the monochromatic feel...
what do you think?
I love this bird in the "cage"....I think the bars are far apart enough for the bird to fly out, if it wishes to do so....
She is not finished yet, but is the first in what I hope will be many little figures on boxes...
You may not be able to get all the detail in this one
(click on it to see if you can enlarge it)
I think the little, tiny bird is delightful...
I think that this one may need some paint.
I think it is a little "dull"
I am looking forward to finishing this one, though I am not sure quite how...
I guess it will be a surprise.
Too bad I am having such a "hard time" with these things.
I am not having any fun at all!!!!!
tee hee
Love your latest creations. They are just wonderful. Just a thought...would colored tissue paper as a final layer add some subtle color in some cases?
ReplyDelete(I'm Beth Murray's sister-in-law. I've been loving your site ever since she told me about it. Hope to get to meet you one day.)
wonderful idea, Lisa - thanks! xo
ReplyDeleteJone, you are soo productive!
ReplyDeleteThe bird cage is adorable, like all the other stuff!
I love the idea with putting "something on the top", on the boxes and on the houses.
I think that the kind of paper you use,
old/new/little text/ a lot of text etc,changes the result quite a lot.
It´s nice to experiment with that.
I wish we could do a little like this on the workshop this summer,
but I know we are not supposed to do that;)
By the way, I won the cup cake competition!!!
Love/
Becky
HOORAY!
ReplyDeleteI am not surprised that you WON!!!
I will write to you "on your turf"
xoxo
Outstanding Jone. I love most of them just the way they are with the newspaper. What about a little buff color just to give it a little non bright white color- although I don't see anything wrong with them as is. Love them all and especially the heart one. Keep on going. You are on a roll.
ReplyDeleteI vote for monochrome. I love 'em!
ReplyDeletethanks to all of you for the overwhelming support!
ReplyDeleteI guess that it shows, that I am LOVING this medium!
can't wait to get back in the studio!
xoxo
I love the simplicity. =)
